I've taken Tahitian Noni Juice for over six years and I can honestly say that it helps! I no longer have allergy problems because of the Noni and my hair and fingernails grow faster. Noni juice is an antioxidant which cleans out your systems and makes everything function better. One gentleman claimed that the Noni gave him and his wife the runs for a whole day. That was because they started off taking too much, too soon. One should start off with a teaspoon the first day and gradually work it up to 2 to 4 ounces per day for optimum results. Noni also enhances the effects of any other meds, so if someone was taking a daily laxative...well, you know what I'm saying.

No, Noni is not approved by the FDA because it is a natural supplement. I don't believe the FDA approves Vitamin C, either!

Noni does different things for different people -- it all depends on where your body needs it the most. Noni causes your body to create healthy cells, which in turn recreate healthy cells, and so on. Eventually you will notice that certain aches or pains are no longer present and you actually have more energy. It's a great product no matter what anybody says.
References :
The hawai'ian peple swore by the stuff, They thought it had all kinds of healthy benefits.

Unfortunately I found the stuff repulsive in taste, so I never bought any more of the foul tasting stuff.
References :
My wife and I tried Noni juice to help improve our energy and vitality.
It really got us moving quickly...to the toilet. It gave us the runs so bad we were afraid to leave the house for a day! We quit taking it and the runs cleared right up. A couple of weeks later we decided to give it another try. Surely the juice could not have caused the runs that bad so we tried some more. Wow, same thing again - stand by the porcelain throne, more offerings coming.
I would not touch the stuff with a ten foot pole.
References :
personal experience

Actually, gochi juice (goji) just announced that the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine (JACM)* has accepted their recent GoChi Effect study for publication. This is a first for any of these juices.

Before an article is accepted for publication, the study must be peer reviewed by independent experts on a blind basis (i.e., without knowing the author’s identity), the data in the study has to be confirmed as accurate, the methodology used in the study has to be confirmed as consistent with good clinical practices, and the study has to be approved.

But back to your question - no, I've only heard good things about Noni, but I've also heard good things about Acai, Mangosteen, Goji and GoChi juices. I think the only thing you have to worry about is possibly allergies (like shellfish), or if you take a blood thinner medication. That's why you should ALWAYS consult with your physician before making any drastic changes to your diet.

And, about the FDA - they don't mess with anything herbal - so don't pay attention to that.

And as far as things you've read on the internet..., take it with a grain of salt. You'll ALWAYS have someone out there who is negative - sometimes it is a marketing ploy - just trying to get a reaction.

Take control of your own life - research is a good thing, but you have to make your own decision!

Kent, what you experienced was probably a detoxification of your body. Noni (or goji) will cleanse your body when you take it. It doesn't last long, and you'll feel healthier!
References :
It depends upon your perspective; like Goji juice, Noni juice may have more psychological benefits than physiological benefits. I'm skeptical about claims for health products that do not have independent scientific research to legitimize their claims.

P.T. Barnum said that there is a sucker born every minute and many people are desperate to find good health through supplements. Supplements are a multi-billion dollar business that offers very little substantive evidence as to health benefits; yet consumers give miraculous claims.
References :
Noni juice has antioxidants that are good for your health in order to combat oxidative stress. Oxidative stress is what damages cells and is linked to heart desease and cancer. In this sense, products that have antioxidant properties can reduce your risk of degenerative deseases.

Unfortunately, people who sell these products sometimes make claims that they are not supposed to. This puts many of these products in a bad. Light. I wouldn't be concerned however that it is not approved by the FDA. That's pretty much par for the course as far as herbal products are concerned.

It is however a good idea to look for a good supplement that has many antioxidant properties.
References :
www.adrianv.usana.com
